It may be hard to tell from the pictures but imagine pleat after pleat after pleat and each one is stitched down. The lip of where the stitching ends sticks out like a 3D effect. It’s minor but it’s definitely there. The opposing side of the fabric is smooth other than the seams. I don’t know if either side is really “the wrong side” so do with it what you will. While it feels thicker than a chiffon, it does have some sheerness. Silky smooth like chiffon/satins for sure.
Burn test reveals this fabric is made from synthetic fibers.
