Thrifty Shades of Grey
40” Width - We have 3 yards of this fabric, selling as 1 piece.
The joy (or lack thereof) of running this business is trying to guess what kind of fabric I’m dealing with. Nearly all donations come in without any description/tags/etc. So it is up to me through my limited experience, burn testing, and general texture clues, to figure it out.
This one has me fairly stumped. Here are your clues:
From a distance this gives off the look of nice sheets for a bed.
When you touch it, you get the feeling of poly-satin (BUT IT’S NOT SHINY FYI)
When you burn test it, it does not bead, only curls away from the flame and the ash is a black/grey blend but barely makes a hard crust.
When you run your fingernails over it like a little tickle, you get that satiny-fabric sound
When you pick up the 3 yards we have, it feels much heavier than a poly satin.
It’s not thin fabric but not thick either but it is sturdy
And shockingly, it’s got good stretch! ?What? Yes, stretches on the bias and weft.
