Vintage Chinese Jacquard Handmade Heavy Curtain
I desperately want this to be the style of decor in our house so I can keep this for myself. I think my favorite part is the brocade trim that is sewing throughout the border and creates the loops for hanging. This measures 77” Width x 56” Height and the loops extend that height another 7.5’ (in case you need to gauge how they will hang over a window)
This handmade curtain/shade is much more impressive in person. I would highly recommend dry cleaning to get out the “old” smell. We have no way of knowing how old this is but our best guess has to be 1970s or earlier. There are no visible flaws. Some of the stitching isn’t perfect but it is constant proof that it is handmade.
We also have no way of knowing if this is silk or polyester but it really is so beautiful you won’t care. It feels like there are more than just 2 layers (front/back). It feels like there is an inner layer that helps these become more of a “blackout” effect curtain.
